PRAIRIE JUNCTION — A new locally owned clothing boutique opened this week in downtown Prairie Junction, adding a fresh retail option to the community’s growing business district.
Willow & Thread, located on Main Street, offers a curated selection of women’s and men’s apparel, accessories, and locally made goods. The shop focuses on casual, everyday styles alongside a small collection of Prairie-inspired designs from Canadian suppliers.
Owner and founder Emily Hart says the idea for the boutique came from a desire to bring more shopping options to smaller communities.
“I wanted to create a place where people could find quality clothing without having to drive to a larger city,” Hart said. “There’s a strong sense of local pride here, and I wanted the store to reflect that.”
The opening drew steady foot traffic throughout the day, with residents stopping in to browse and welcome the new business. Several downtown merchants said the addition of the boutique helps strengthen the local retail core.
Willow & Thread plans to host seasonal pop-ups and collaborate with other local businesses on events throughout the year.
The boutique is open Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours planned during the summer months.
